Matan Atad
Matan Atad is a Ph.D. student at the Technical University of Munich, co-supervised by Prof. Daniel Rückert (AI for Medicine) and Prof. Jan Kirschke (Neuroradiology). His research focuses on using medical imaging and AI to study spinal disorders, with a particular emphasis on the progression of intervertebral disc degeneration and spinal metastasis. He applies machine learning and computational modeling to large-scale MRI and CT datasets to better understand the relationship between imaging biomarkers and clinical outcomes. At ISSLS, he will present works on large-scale MRI-based analysis of lumbar degeneration and the role of paraspinal muscle fat in back pain assessment.
